The collection consists of Democrat James L. Paulk's state senatorial papers during his term representing the 13th District from 1977 to 1979 and a small selection of files of Senator J. Ebb Duncan (30th District). Paulk's papers include incoming and outgoing correspondence, memoranda, reports, clippings, bills, speeches, constituent questionnaires. Printed and photographic materials document state fiscal concerns, environmental issues, and the state of county correctional institutions. Of particular interest are the constituent surveys and responses from 1978 and 1979 as they reflect the opinions of Paulk's constituency on issues of the day such as the Equal Rights Amendment, tax issues, capital punishment, and teacher's compensation. Duncan's files, dating from 1977 to 1979, are legislative in nature and touch primarily on his efforts to secure transportation for the elderly and mentally challenged through S.B. 553.

Wood and Associates Collection, Audiovisual Materials is comprised of 50 16mm films, three 2-inch videotapes, and ten quarter-inch open reel audio tapes, The materials document the public relations and advertising work of Wood & Associates for numerous political campaigns between the years of 1969 and 1992 including Georgia gubernatorial campaigns for Jimmy Carter (1970) and George Busbee (1974 and 1978), the U.S. senatorial campaigns of Sam Nunn (1972) and Norman Underwood (1980), the U.S. congressional campaigns of John J. Flynt, Jr. (1976), Smith Foster (1976) and Marge Thurman (1977), and the Atlanta mayoral campaigns of Rodney Cook (1969) and Buck Melton (1975). Also included is a commercial for swimming pool chlorinators manufactured by Tesco Chemical.

This collection consists primarily of plats and surveys conducted by the Marbury Engineering Company in Albany, Georgia. Many of the plats are for private homes in planned communities and subdivisions located in Dougherty and Baker Counties. There are also a surveys and plans related to educational, civic, and commercial buildings including Albany State College, the Albany Mall, Proctor & Gamble Plant, South Georgia Technical & Vocational School, and Albany Post Office.

The collection consists of materials from Don and Carolyn Carter's careers, mostly from 1940-1990. It contains many letters between Carolyn and Don while he served in World War II in the China Burma India Theater, as well as several letters between Don and J. Montgomery Curtis, a close friend and former vice-president at Knight-Ridder Newspapers, Inc. Contains correspondence, documents, and articles from both Don and Carolyn's careers in journalism and photojournalism and also reflects their lifelong close relationship with the Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. Collection consists of many letters and other materials showing their involvement in politics, namely Jimmy Carter's tenure as Governor of Georgia and his presidency.

The collection consists of correspondence dealing with University of Georgia business, texts of speeches and writings, photographs and approximately 75 scrapbooks dealing with the University, education, and Sanford himself. A portion of the correspondence deals with the events surrounding the October 12, 1929 Yale-Georgia stadium dedication game. Also included is a letter from then governor of New York Franklin Roosevelt declining an invitation to the November 9, 1929 UGA-NYU game in New York. The Phi Kappa Literary Society Minutes 1897-1909 are also included. A box inventory is located in a folder at the beginning of Box No. 1.

The majority of the materials date from the late 1960s to the late 1970s. Topics include the Vietnam Conflict, the Watergate investigation, ratification of the Panama Canal Treaty, civil rights, rural development, Lockheed C-5A, development of Lake Lanier Islands, forced school busing, the textile trade, the poultry industry, and works incentive program.
