Dean Rusk Personal Papers, Series II: U.S. Secretary Of State, Department Of State includes transcripts of addresses, interviews, statements, press releases, and speeches that Dean Rusk gave during his tenure as Secretary of State. Researchers may be interested in statements by Rusk on the deaths of various famous figures in the world of politics and foreign affairs including President Herbert Hoover, King Mohamed V of Morocco, Adlai E. Stevenson, Sir Winston Churchill and Robert F. Kennedy. Opening and closing remarks on numerous foreign relations events, such as the meetings of the US-Japan Committee on Economics and Trade, and the SEATO [Southeast Asia Collective Defense Treaty] conference in 1961, the Geneva Disarmament Conference in 1962, and meetings over the Dominican Republic Crisis with the OAS [Organization of American States] in 1965, can also be found here. There are several copies of congressional testimonies by Dean Rusk given between 1949 and 1979. Also, a small group of files consisting of articles that Dean Rusk designated for his "personal papers" upon leaving the office of Secretary of State. Topics covered in these files include Vietnam, the effect of student activism on international relations, the Berlin Crisis of 1961-1964, the role of analogy in law, Rusk's success over nuclear nonhappening, foreign travel by the Secretary of State, and the National Academy of Sciences. Certain records relating to the Palestine question were maintained in the offices of Dean Rusk and Robert McClintock, these records exist on microfilm.

The Two-Party Georgia Oral History Project documents how the Georgia Republican Party grew from a small grassroots party during an era of Democratic dominance into the state's premiere political organization and governing party over the course of the late-twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. Interview participants represent current and former Republican and Democratic political figures who were active contributors or commenters on this transformation between 1952-2016, with a primary focus on the years post-1974.The collection documents the personal experiences and insights of the candidates, officeholders, activists, organizers, strategists, and analysts who participated in those key campaigns, intraparty conflicts, policy debates, and legislative battles. It also documents the accounts of the journalists and scholars who have chronicled these activities and achievements.

There are clippings and legislative files regarding Johnson and legislation on which he worked. The Athens Music Project Oral History Collection is part of the Athens Music Project (AMP), a Willson Center for Humanities and Arts research cluster co-directed by Jean Kidula and Susan Thomas. Interviews in this collection document the development of Athens as a breeding ground for multiple musical communities--the most prominent of them being the Southern independent rock scene. Other areas to be documented include a variety of African-American musical traditions, hip-hop, jazz, bluegrass, folk music traditions, Latin music, new music and conceptual sound art, classical music, and musical theater, and AthFest.

Scope and content The Senate Staff Oral History Project documents the professional careers and reflections of individuals who served on the staffs of Georgia's United States Senators from Richard B. Russell, Jr. to the present. Interview participants include members of legislative and committee staffs who worked in Washington D.C. and Georgia. Most interviewees held one or more senior positions including, but not limited to, administrative assistant (or chief of staff), staff director, legal counsel, legislative aide, legislative director, policy analyst, press secretary, regional director, and scheduler. The collection documents the personal experiences and insights of these staff members as they relate to their experience working for U.S. Senators from Georgia, the role of the United States Senate in government, the Senate as a workplace, and memorable campaigns and legislative debates. It also includes assessments of the legacies left by Georgia's U.S. Senators with regard to politics and public policy in Georgia and the United States. Russell Library for Political Research and Studies partnered with Historic Athens to support and preserve the Facebook Live-streamed public history initiative which aims to bring awareness to communities and connect generations with their heritage, as well as to preserve a fuller history of Athens, through remote interviews on Facebook. This collection includes interviews with members of Athens' Black community documenting the modern history of Athens neighborhoods, music, art, restaurants, politics, religion, and society.
