The collection consists of approximately 250 letters from E.A. Nisbet to Amanda Battle before and after their 1825 marriage.
There are a few letters from their children and their friends. Although Nisbet's letters deal mainly with family matters,
he also discusses politics and fellow politicians, especially while in Washington, D.C.
The collection also includes two framed oil portraits and a pecan desk chair. One of the paintings is of Amanda Battle, dated
1841, and with the frame is 36 1/2" x 32," the other is of E.A. Nisbet and is 20 1/4" x 17". The chair, which has a carved
back with four spindles and an upholstered seat, belonged to Amanda Nisbet.

The collection consists of correspondence, writings, photographs, financial papers and printed material. The correspondence
of 1938-1939 deals with waterworks improvement and street paving projects when Foster was mayor of Dallas, Georgia. From 1984-1988
there are handwritten and typed copies of a column, "Here comes the Judge," which Foster wrote for the Dallas New Era. In
the columns, Foster described his friends, family, and Paulding County history. There are typed copies of several chapters
of his book "Paulding County: Its People and Places." There is both correspondence and printed material for the Georgia Sesquicentenary
Commission, 1981-1984; the Paulding Paul Revere Bicentennial Committee, 1975-1976; and several items concerning financial
and voter information of Dallas and Paulding County, Georgia.

inmates. Papers also include offender queries printed from the Georgia Department of Corrections and Oklahoma Department of
Corrections, containing Brown's and Cleary's physical descriptions and sentence details; newspaper clippings regarding the
executions, and various prison forms; and documents concerning the execution process, and rules and regulations of visiting
death row inmates.

The collection consists of papers tracing theater life of the Smedley family from 1898-1919. In his diary, Edwin A. Smedley
writes about time spent in New York and Providence. New York entries regard interviews, agents, looking for work, rehearsals
at Carnegie Hall, Amateur Night, C.S. Church, and several visitors. Entries from Providence regard family activities, relaxation,
spending time on the beach and boat, and ball games. Most entries begin with a weather update, and the final pages include
addresses of friends and family members, and travel and performance schedules. Journal B contains several newspaper clippings
regarding Ellis Smedley, Edwin Smedley, Kate Douglas Wiggin, Mabel Tailaferro, Edith Taliaferro, Archie Boyd, the Smedley
Sketch Club, and Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm. The collection also includes some photographs, The Little mother script by Katherine
Stagg, broadsides, programs, and memorabilia from the theater.
