The collection consists of one notebook compiled by J.H. Dorsey of the Clarke County (Ga.) Tax Receiver Office for 1906. The roll lists ex-Confederate soldiers and widows of ex-Confederates divided into two sections. Section one lists name of Confederate soldier, company, regiment or Athens command, where and when enlisted, where and when discharged, and post office. Section two gives name of soldier, name of widow, company or unit, where and when enlisted, where and when discharged, and post office.

A notebook of Captain Henry H. Carlton from 1860-circa 1880s. The notebook begins in 1860 as L. C. Cooper's notebook while a student at Franklin College (University of Georgia, Athens) and contains several literary pieces copied by Cooper. In 1861, Captain H. H. Carlton used the book to record the list of soldiers who served in the Troup Artillery during the Civil War. After the war someone, probably Edwin D. Newton, Secretary of the Survivors Association of Confederate Veterans of Northeast Georgia, added place of residence, death dates, and other data to the list. The notebook contains a mixture of various notes and includes material on Carlton's Company.

The collection consists of a record book containing minutes and financial accounts of the Washington County (Ga.) Board of Commissioners for Roads, Public Property and Finance from January, 1898 - October, 1904. The minutes describe the meetings of the board and pertain to activities of the Home for the Poor, the jail, and other public institutions; aid to indigent confederate veterans; the building of public roads or utilities; and appointment of board members. The financial accounts are included with the minutes and contain accounts audited, approved, paid and the names of the payees; poll taxes paid, general taxes paid; and the names of any loan defaulters.

This collection contains meeting notes, membership ledgers, scrapbooks, photographs, correspondence, and business documents from the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Laura Rutherford Chapter and the Colonial Dames of the Seventeenth Century, Elijah Clarke Chapter. A large portion of the collection documents Ms. LaCavera's time with these organizations. It also contains notes, genealogy, and writing produced by Tommie LaCavera and her contemporary, Beth Abney. Documents and printed material from other hereditary and service organizations that Ms. LaCavera was involved with are also included. Another component of this collection is historical documents from the early Nineteeth Century, including deeds, correspondence, receipts, checks and land documents from the Kunze and Johnson families of Georgia, as well as the Ballister family from Kentucky, among others.
