The Marguerite Thomas Hodgson papers cover the span of 1875 to 1997. Many of the materials are related to the Chi Omega (Mu Beta chapter) fraternity. Other items are from Ms. Hodgson's college days at UGA in the mid 1940s with older materials belonging to her father, Ralph Hodgson, and other relatives. There is also a scrapbook containing clippings of an ongoing 1965 newspaper column, "Early days on the Georgia Gridiron," written by John Stegeman and Ralph Hodgson.

In addition to this material, there is an article that she wrote in 1994 about the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday and papers from a 1973 UGA conference entitled "The American woman-who will she be?"

The photograph files, which comprise the majority of the collection, capture the history of the Redcoat/Dixie Band from as early as 1917 to the 2000s era. These files include major figures such as Roger and Phylis Dancz, Gary Teske, and Dwight Satterwhite. Additionally the collection contains newspaper clippings and correspondence that mirror major events seen throughout the photograph files. These materials offer insight concerning the happenings of the Redcoat/Dixie Band at the local, state, and national levels.
