The collection documents the business transactions of the Union City Realty & Trust Co., and Consolidated Trust Co., its owners and major investors: John A. Phillips, J. H. Harris, Ida Harris, Mrs. M. E. Phillips; their creditors, partners, and many legal transactions. It proves an interesting perspective on the founding of Union City by land speculators complete with ad campaign promotions and possibly exploitations. The collection is comprised of correspondence, affidavits, depositions, land grant copies, land surveys, bonds, deeds, abstracts of titles, mortgages, court summons, petitions, settlements, judgements, FiFa's, promissory notes, accounts, receipts, stock certificates, news clippings, business cards, a will and a broadside. The greatest concentration of material is within the 1870-1911 period.

The collection consists of the papers of Shepherd Green Pryor from 1837-1863. The majority of the collection contains letters (1861-1863) between Green and his wife, Penelope, while he served with Company A of the 12th Georgia Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. The letters are mainly from camps in Virginia while the Company fought through the Valley Campaign, the Seven Days Battle, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and Gettysburg. The collection also includes deeds, photographs of and biographical material on the Pryor family of Sumter County (Ga.), and a typescript of most of the Civil War letters.
