This collection documents Dr. Gene Bottoms' 60-year long career in education policy at the state and local levels. It contains information related to Bottoms' education consulting work, congressional testimony related to vocational education standards, and documentation of his work with the Southern Regional Education Board, particularly his High Schools That Work Initiative. The collection also documents Bottoms' campaign for Georgia School Superintendent in 1986.

The collection consists of the papers of Rodney M. Cook from 1951 to 1978. The political series (1951-1978) contains papers relating to Cook's campaigns for public office including the Atlanta Board of Aldermen (1961, 1965), Atlanta Mayor (1969), Georgia Legislature (1965-1970), Congress (1972), and Georgia Governor (1978). The series also contains records relating to Cook's involvement with Republican Party activities at the local, state, and national level. The Aldermen series (1951-1972) documents Cook's service on the Atlanta Board of Aldermen. Records include subject files and committee files relating to such subjects as civil rights, Atlanta government, urban renewal, and zoning. The legislative papers relate to his tenure as a representative-at-large for Fulton County in the Georgia Legislature (1952-1972) and include such topics as Cook's support of the seating of Julian Bond, the 1971 special session for redistricting, his service as chairman of the Joint Senate-House Committee on Computerized Criminal Records Study, and his involvement with the development of Atlanta.

This collection consists of materials generated by the Willson Center during the years 1987 to 2012. It has the Center's newsletters (1987-2012), publicity materials (1990s-2000s) and items associated with the International Symposia Series (1994-2006). There are articles and essays authored by former director Betty Jean Craige (1984-2010) and newspaper/magazine articles, etc. from 2001 covering the 40th anniversary of UGA's desegregation. In addition, there are items related to the Delta Prize for Global Understanding (1999-2012) and a scrapbook that features photographs and documents from events at the Willson Center during the years 1987 to 1999. There are also numerous DVDs, CDs and audio cassettes.

Chambers papers of Judge Lewis R. Morgan. Papers document Judge Morgan's thirty-five-year judicial career with the United States District Court, 1961-1968, and the United States Fifth and Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, 1968-1996. Includes case files (typically opinions, briefs, judicial memoranda, reports, administrative forms and correspondence), dockets, bench books, case indexes, correspondence, printed opinions, committee files, charge books and notes, newsclippings, photographs, and maps. Of note are Judge Morgan's files relating to highly publicized cases, such as Wallace Butts v. Curtis Publishing Company, civil rights cases heard in District Court in Georgia and the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, and materials relating to the split of the Fifth Circuit into the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits in 1981.

John Leonard Pilcher Papers, I. Legislative series contains correspondence, bills, memoranda, news releases, reports, telegrams, and other printed material pertaining to legislation sponsored by Pilcher and other congressmen. There is some overlap with similar topics in the various subseries. There is also legislative correspondence filed by constituent name in the Miscellaneous series, which acts as a partial name cross-reference file to this and other series (for a more detailed explanation of this cross-referencing, see the description of III. Miscellaneous File). Topics include farming and small business practices, social security, postal rates, education, and taxation. There is also documentation of Pilchers activities as a member of the Subcommittee on Foreign Economic Policy and Subcommittee on the Far East and the Pacific.
