Collection consists of materials pertaining to Mimi Jo Butler's genealogy research, from the 1970s until her death in 2011, including extensive family research, particularly in Georgia and the Pickens County area. Also contains materials related to J.B. Hill's work with the Georgia Marble Company, from 1927-1962, including numerous designs and artwork for mausoleums, tombstones, and cemeteries.

Mimi Jo Hill Butler worked for over 30 years as a counselor in the Cherokee County school district. She did extensive genealogy research and was an active member of the Tate United Methodist Church. Her father, John Benjamin (J.B.) Hill, was the principal designer for the Georgia Marble Company from 1927-1962.
