The collection consists of printed material that may have been used in research concerning the Chattahoochee and Apalachicola Rivers and other land and water issues. The original manuscript of River Song is also included. In addition there is correspondence received from schoolchildren, as the couple would often stop at towns and speak at schools, as well as audio cassettes which contain music and interviews with people they met on the journey.

William A. Foster, Jr., papers, 1898-1988

Abstract Or Scope:

The collection consists of correspondence, writings, photographs, financial papers and printed material. The correspondence of 1938-1939 deals with waterworks improvement and street paving projects when Foster was mayor of Dallas, Georgia. From 1984-1988 there are handwritten and typed copies of a column, "Here comes the Judge," which Foster wrote for the Dallas New Era. In the columns, Foster described his friends, family, and Paulding County history. There are typed copies of several chapters of his book "Paulding County: Its People and Places." There is both correspondence and printed material for the Georgia Sesquicentenary Commission, 1981-1984; the Paulding Paul Revere Bicentennial Committee, 1975-1976; and several items concerning financial and voter information of Dallas and Paulding County, Georgia.

Items includes scrapbooks, exhibition catalogs, photographs, calling cards and memorabilia relating to Lucy May Stanton's funeral, family expense records, sketchbooks, paint pots and paint brushes used by W. Stanton Forbes, ivory pieces, and an audiotape of Frances Forbes Heyn singing Gullah songs. There is also corespondence from Stanton, Heyn, and Forbes, and printed material concerning Lucy M. Stanton.

Dever-Blance-Hutchings family papers, 1832-1971

The collection consists of correspondence, writings, printed material, photographs, and financial papers. The correspondence regards the Dever and Blance families, most are business related involving the Post Office, Internal Revenue Office, land transfers, the slate quarry and politics. Financial papers make up the major part of the collection, with deeds to land in Cherokee County (Ga.), which was later divided into Paulding and Polk counties. Several ledgers contain accounts for stores in Rockmart, Van Wert and Blanceville, and two Forrest Hutchings' farm ledgers list accounts for tenants.

The collection consists of drafts of manuscripts; drafts and proofs of The Eternal Fire, and annotated screenplays of several film and stage productions that Willingham either wrote or collaborated on. The papers also contain some correspondence to and from other writers, agents, and publishers. In additional, there are unmailed letters by Willingham, written mainly to vent his opinion on a particular matter or situation, not with the intention of mailing them. Included are the annotated screenplays of several film and stage productions that Willingham either wrote or collaborated on, such as The Graduate, Little Big Man, Patton, and Paths of Glory.

This collection consists of Hargrett Library's correspondence, departmental reports, and patron forms. Most of the materials are from 1983 through 2011 but annual reports dating from 1954 are included as well as patron request slips and registers that go back to the 1970s. The correspondence is of particular interest since it includes information about such things as the Margret Mitchell, Lillian Smith and Erskine Caldwell collections.
