The collection consists of records primarily dating from Buchanan's years as Associate Director of the Georgia Agricultural Experiment Station and Resident Director of the Coastal Plain Experiment Station in Tifton, Georgia. Most of the collection is administrative correspondence, but other records such as minutes, agendas, conference papers, speeches, and budgetary documents are also included.

S. Eugene Younts papers consists of administrative files that date from 1967 to 2011. These files are directly related to Younts daily work activities. Series two focuses on the new faculty tours that Younts created and led from 1977 to 1999. There are numerous photographs and slide included in this series. Series three, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation files, dates from 1977 to 1992. This part of the collection highlights the University of Georgia projects that the Foundation helped fund during those years. The fourth series, subject files, holds mainly Younts' speech, research and book materials from the 1950s through 2012. The fifth series consists of appointment calendars with Younts' daily activities noted. These calendars date from 1970 to 1999.

The Moore's Ford Memorial Committee was founded in 1997 to commemorate and reconcile the 1946 Moore's Ford lynching, in which two African American couples were murdered by a white mob at the Moore's Ford bridge in Walton County, GA. The collection contains the committee's administrative and financial records, event planning files, files on the FBI and GBI investigations into the lynching and other incidents of racial violence, and documentation of the committee's support for restorative justice and reconciliation.

The bulk of this collection contains ephemera collected from musical groups and entertainers, most of who performed at the Roxy, Tabernacle, or Music Midtown venues in Atlanta. It contains autographed photographs and posters, hats, shirts, jackets, and other publicity items. There is also a small collection of files from the Carter Campaign in 1976 and administrative files from other Atlanta venues.

C. Donald (Don) Johnson Papers, Record Group B: Congress includes constiuent services correspondence documenting a rich mix of issues from the early 1990s including Clinton's health care plan, proposed tax increases, the implementation of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" relating to the sexual orientation of military personnel, abortion legislation, gun control, and the federal budget. There are clippings and legislative files regarding Johnson and legislation on which he worked. Legislative topics include: banking, energy, the environment, housing, judicial issues, Urban Affairs, and Appropriations. The campaign series contains items pertaining to Johnson's two campaigns for congress including: correspondence, information about campaign events, campaign ephemera, and clippings. Also found here is material documenting the activities of Johnson's district office in Athens, Georgia.

This collection contains legislative files from Jane Kidd's time as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives from 2004 to 2006; files from her campaigns for the Georgia House of Representatives, Georgia State Senate, and the Democratic National Convention Delegation between 2004 and 2012; materials documenting her tenure as chairwoman of the Democratic Party of Georgia from 2007 to 2011 and her role as a superdelegate at the 2008 Democratic National Convention; records from the MacArthur Foundation Research Network on Successful Midlife Development (MIDMAC) project for which she served as a public information consultant; personal files related to her family and local service; political artifacts; and audiovisual recordings ranging in date from 1953 to 2012.

Abstract Or Scope:
Record Group A: State Senate Files were generated while Don Johnson served in the Georgia General Assembly as a Senator from 1987 to 1993. The General Files include materials that assisted Johnson with monitoring legislative issues, researching and writing legislation, developing legislative initiatives, as well as observing local issues. Included are files relating to the Intra County Telephone Toll Bill, Johnson's work on the Appropriations and Reapportionment Committees, the Export Study Commission, and the Hobbs Act. The Issue files contain correspondence, newspaper clippings, printed materials, reports, maps and bills. These were issues of particular interest to Johnson which included human resources, taxation and transportation. The Campaign series contains material relating to Johnson's campaign in 1987 to fill the seat of the late Parks Brown and his subsequent races in 1988, 1990, and 1992.
