The Ed. L Jenkins Papers documents the political career of Congressman Ed Jenkins who represented Georgia's Ninth District (Northwest Georgia) from 1977 to 1992. Prior to being elected to the House of Representatives, Jenkins worked as a trial lawyer in Jasper, Georgia. During his tenure in the House of Representatives, Jenkins served on several committees including: the Ways and Means Committee where he was involved with the Trade Subcommittee, the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct, the Budget Committee, the Steering and Policy Committee, and the House Select Committee to Investigate Covert Arms Transactions during the Iran-Contra Hearings. Jenkins was an advocate of the textile industry in Georgia. He served on both the Textile and Congressional Rural Caucus to represent the needs of the industry and his constituents. Legislation of particular interest in this collection includes the Textile and Apparel Trade Enforcement Act of 1985, the Caribbean Basin Initiative, the Tax Reform Act of 1986, and Ronald Reagan's Balanced-Budget Amendment. Other topics of interest in this collection includes files on the Chattahoochee National Forest Preservation, lake and water resources, agriculture, textiles, domestic trade, taxation, and the Iran-Contra Hearings.

The Erwin C. Surrency Collection of Political Materials consists of political campaign materials collected by Surrency over the course of his career as law librarian and professor at Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and, later at the University of Georgia. It covers the years 1946-1964 and includes printed materials, handbooks, press releases, news clippings, bumper stickers, buttons, and pamphlets. Materials document Democratic and Republican Party campaigns at the national level and the Pennsylvania state or local level including Adlai Stevenson's 1952 presidential campaign and the 1964 "Republicans for Johnson" presidential campaign. Eunice Lastinger Mixon was born in Tifton, Georgia, in 1931 to a family of farmers. She married Albert Mixon in 1948, and beginning in 1956 she attended the University of Georgia, attaining a master's degree and specialist degree in education. She taught eighth-grade science, and high school biology, chemistry and physics for thirty years in the Tift County School System, and was an instructor at the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. In 1974, gubernatorial candidate George Busbee, acquainted with Mixon through his advocacy for teachers in the legislature, appointed her as his Tift County campaign chairman, and her success at grassroots organizing gained her a reputation as a valuable political ally in South Georgia. Since then she has campaigned for President Bill Clinton, Senator Sam Nunn, Congressmen Charles Hatcher and Roy Rowland, and Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture Tommy Irvin. She served as a delegate to the 1988 and 1992 National Democratic Conventions, and as a member of the Georgia Democratic Executive Committee. The papers document Mixon's involvement with the state and national Democratic Parties, her appointment to several state boards and commissions, and community activities in Tifton, Georgia.

The project culminated in long and short versions of the video documentary In the Eye of the Storm, hosted by author Tom Clancy, the video production An Evening with Ehrlichman at London University, and video footage of Bob Woodward's interview of Ehrlichman. This collection consists of production files, interview transcripts, Ehrlichman's files related to the film, and stills and footage contracts.
