The collection consists of biographical information, correspondence, writings, printed material, photographs, and a scrapbook. The correspondence is mainly of the Thomas and DuBose families, but there is also some material of related families Barnett, Toombs, White, Welch, Stovall, Morton and Van Epps. Although there are no original letters, there is some interesting information about Alexander Erwin Wilson and his wife Jane Smithey who were missionaries in South Africa 1835-1836. They were the grandparents of Jennie Stovall DuBose. There are numerous photographs of the families, and Navy photographs of Austin Hill Barnett, Jr. Printed material includes a booklet of the Athens High School reunion of the class of 1937 which included Janet DuBose. The scrapbook was kept by Minnie Thomas and holds colorful advertisements circa 1879.

A single letter from Julia Evans Cope to the Georgia General Assembly addressing the topic of capital punishment in the state. Cope is writing in support of the the bill to abolish capital punishment put forward by Representatives Viola Ross Napier of Bibb County and John Stephens Wood of Fulton County. At the time of the letter the bill was pending before the House Judiciary Committee. Also included is a photocopy of Cope's obituary from The Atlanta Constitution, dated 1929 March 6.

There are letters from Jim to his mother while he was stationed in Cuba, and letters to William from his cousin Herman De La Perriere and friend Paul Hosch, Jr. who was aboard the U.S.S. Catskill. The photo albums of Jim De La Perriere include photographs of his activities at the Naval Base, Winder High School, and the University of Georgia. There are group photographs of SAE fraternity members, Athens High School sports teams, and Winder High School class of 1944. The scrapbook contains obituaries of Homer Clarence De La Perriere and condolence letters.

The family papers include genealogy research, correspondence, clippings, photographs, land grants, deeds, wills, diaries and printed material related to the Gibbs, Wynn/e, Allen, Burns, Chenault, Fisher, and Parker families between 1826-2014. The Wynne family name has several variations in spelling including Wynne, Wynn, and Winn. In his 1912 article about the Wynn family reunion, Gus Edwards spells the surname without a final "e." He goes on to write, "In the long ago the family name used to be spelled with a final 'e,' thus, Wynne, but in later years somehow or other the family began to write simply, W-y-n-n." The ancestors of Robert Adin Gibbs (1874-1944) and Theola Fisher Parker (1876-1951) encompass the five major family lines in this collection. The collection also includes an address book, family bible, account book, recipe, receipts, and Civil War-era letters by various family members including those between Eliza Jane Wynne (1837-1916) and her husband Charles Rollin Gibbs (1835-1903).
