The collection consists of school lesson plans from the 1910's from the old State Normal School and other documents from this time period. However, the vast majority centers around Mrs. Elliott's time as a teacher at the University of Georgia Department of Education Demonstration School. Many items marked "Elementary School" direct to this school. Mrs. Elliott kept many books and notes on her students, her teaching, and the schools she worked for. There are numerous progress reports, grade sheets, information sheets, received holiday cards and pictures, and even a school scrapbook project about China. Correspondence and instruction about teaching are also very popular in this collection, though often mixed in with student information.

The collection also consists of items, mainly correspondence, collected by Rodgers including several letters relating to the Revolutionary War, documents pertaining to the Schuyler family, and "A memorial of Rev. Ravaud K. Rodgers, D. D., [Re-printed by the Society's proceedings]." Of particular interest is a letter (dated July 17, 1776) describing the celebration at Fort Monmouth (N.J.) upon the declaration of independence.
