Because Pilcher played an important role in federal construction in his distriction, the series also includes views of the Moultrie post office and the town of Cavalry, among others. Among the some the more notable individuals appearing in the photographs are: Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Hubert H. The related materials include photographs, memorabilia, and a scrapbook. The collection of over 700 unique photographs illustrates the life and career of Congressman Stuckey. Included in the collection are some family photos, but the majority of the prints are from the period when Stuckey was campaigning for the United States Congress from Georgia's Eighth District and activities related to his position as a US Congressman. This series also includes plaques, citations, proclamations, resolutions, and presentation certificates received by Stuckey throughout his political career. The scrapbook includes clippings from newspapers and magazines, including news and feature items. Audiovisual Materials includes seventeen 16mm films, two 2-inch open reel video tape, three betacam videocassettes, one audiocassette, five dictation discs, one DVD, one phonodisc, and 26 quarter-inch open reel audio tapes, documenting campaign ads and policy-related activities, as well as a series of transcribed audio programs hosted by Stuckey discussing issues of the day with his contemporaries in the federal government. Four items from this collection have been digitized and are available for viewing online. The collection consists of biographical information, correspondence, writings, financial papers, printed material, photographs, and artifacts. Family letters are mainly among Alexander H. Stephens, his father Andrew Baskins Stephens, his brother Aaron Grier Stephens, his nephew John Alexander Stephens, and his half-brother Linton Stephens. The letters discuss family matters and politics. One group of letters concerns the imprisonment and parole of honor of Alexander H. Stephens at Fort Warren (Boston, Mass.) in 1865. Correspondence between Alexander H. Stephens and various political figures includes Howell Cobb, Abraham Lincoln, Ben Hill, and Robert Toombs. Stephens and Hill write about the possibility of a duel between them because of an argument over politics. There is one letter from Clement Anselm Evans (1833-1911) to his wife, and three letters to him from John Brown Gordon, Joseph Wheeler and James Longstreet. Among the financial papers are deeds, and the wills of Alexander H. Stephens and his grandfather Alexander Stephens (d. 1813). An oversize folder contains a copy of an undated map of Confederate and Federal lines around Petersburg, Virginia. Artifacts include a walking cane of Alexander H. Stephens, locks of his hair, and a bloodletting tool.

The Personal series contains correspondence and material of a personal nature including invitations, greetings, thank yous, condolences and items related to the Richard B. Russell Foundation, which Senator Talmadge served as chairman from 1971 until 1974. Arrangement is chronological by topic. Especially noteworthy are the subseries Sympathy and Ham Business. Sympathy includes letters of condolence to him and his family relating to the death of his youngest son, Robert, in 1975. The Ham Business subseries contains printed materials and correspondence concerning Talmadge Hams. Betty Talmadge managed the business while the senator worked in Washington. The invitation subseries includes invitations accepted, fulfilled, or regretted.

Requests for federal judgeships, federal attorneys and assistant attorneys, federal marshals, Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation committee and Georgia-based postmasters. The files were divided by regions-Northern, Middle, and Southern. Nominations were a standard part of the senator's job, as documented in these files.

These files contain background information on legislation, daily office activities, constituent inquiries, as well as various groups and activities. Files consist of correspondence, speeches, reports, news releases, clippings, and photographs. The majority of the papers date from the early sixties to the late seventies. The early years of this series, 1954 to 1962, coincide with Flynt's Departmental series, which date from 1963 to 1978. The researcher will need to consult the other portion of this collection to gain a more complete understanding of the congressman's work with legislation relating to the executive departments and commissions.

William Armstrong Smith was a Georgia state senator from the 34th District (Fulton County), from 1966 to 1974. During this time, Smith introduced various bills, served on and/or chaired numerous senate committees, and actively supported the development of the Republican Party in Georgia. The collection documents his career and to a lesser degree his campaigns as well as his continued interest in legislative matters after his senate career ended (1975-1978). The majority of the collection consists of correspondence, newspaper clippings, financial records, and legislative bills. There are approximately six linear feet of publication materials produced by various sources covering subjects such as education, insurance, transportation, and planning. Another important aspect of the collection is correspondence Smith created after his senate career with Georgia politicians. Correspondents include: Howard "Bo" Callaway, John J. Flynt, Jr., Wyche Fowler, Zell Miller, Sam Nunn, as well as United States Presidents Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford and Richard Nixon.

The Richard B. Russell, Jr. Collection, Subgroup C, Series XIII. Kennedy Assassinations concerns both the homicides of John F. Kennedy and his brother, Robert F. Kennedy. The majority of the documents, however, relate to the president's assassination and the subsequent findings of the Warren Commission. The files of this series include information prompted by the investigation, correspondence, reports, testimony transcripts, book manuscript drafts and proofs, memoranda, evidential material, manuscript drafts and proofs of the final commission report and clippings pertaining to the assassinations, the commission reports, and other related topics. Other material related to this series is in the Dictation series and in the Intra-Office Communications series of the Winder Papers. Any additional non-textual materials originally filed with papers were removed for preservation purposes and improved access.
