The Richard B. Russell, Jr. Collection, Subgroup C, Series XVI: International consists of correspondence and printed material relating to international regions, countries, cities, topics, and incidents. It is subdivided into general correspondence and subject files. General correspondence contains writings and materials of a general international nature. The Subject files include correspondence and materials pertaining to specific geographic regions, such as Africa and the Middle East, and countries such as Cuba, Angola, the Dominican Republic and Vietnam. Materials relating to the British Loan (1942-1946), the Berlin Crisis, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Pueblo Incident, and the Dominican Republic Crisis of 1965 are located in these files. Any additional non-textual materials originally filed with papers were removed for preservation purposes and improved access. These materials include photographs, audiovisual items, scrapbooks, vertical files, memorabilia, and books.

The collection consists of correspondence from Robert Toombs to his wife, Julia Ann DuBois Toombs in Washington, Wilkes County, Georgia from 1850-1867. During 1850-1859 his letters come from Washington, D.C. while he served in the U.S. Senate. During the Civil War, he wrote from Virginia (1862) and Atlanta, Georgia (1864). Following the war, letters are written from Paris (1866-67) while he was in exile. The correspondence generally discusses current events; his land holdings in South Georgia, Alabama, and Texas; people; other soldiers; and his wish to be with his wife and family.

The Richard B. Russell, Jr. Collection, Subgroup C, Series X: Civil Rights relates to many aspects of the civil rights issue. Almost all of the files deal with black-white relations in the United States, particularly those involving legislative action during Senator Russell's career in the Senate. Issues, such as the antilynching bill, the Fair Employment Practices Committee, racial integration, and the various civil rights bills from 1948 until 1964, are documented. There are also records related to other topics such as cloture, the literacy voting bill, the poll tax, school prayer, and some subjects which are indirectly related to the race issue. Any additional non-textual materials originally filed with papers were removed for preservation purposes and improved access. These materials include photographs, audiovisual items, scrapbooks, vertical files, memorabilia, and books.

The Ed. L Jenkins Papers documents the political career of Congressman Ed Jenkins who represented Georgia's Ninth District (Northwest Georgia) from 1977 to 1992. Prior to being elected to the House of Representatives, Jenkins worked as a trial lawyer in Jasper, Georgia. During his tenure in the House of Representatives, Jenkins served on several committees including: the Ways and Means Committee where he was involved with the Trade Subcommittee, the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct, the Budget Committee, the Steering and Policy Committee, and the House Select Committee to Investigate Covert Arms Transactions during the Iran-Contra Hearings. Jenkins was an advocate of the textile industry in Georgia. He served on both the Textile and Congressional Rural Caucus to represent the needs of the industry and his constituents. Legislation of particular interest in this collection includes the Textile and Apparel Trade Enforcement Act of 1985, the Caribbean Basin Initiative, the Tax Reform Act of 1986, and Ronald Reagan's Balanced-Budget Amendment. Other topics of interest in this collection includes files on the Chattahoochee National Forest Preservation, lake and water resources, agriculture, textiles, domestic trade, taxation, and the Iran-Contra Hearings.

The General File, as well as, Legislative, reflect the increasing sophistication of Davis' filing system. In the years 1961 to 1968 (87th - 89th Congresses) General Correspondence-Subject Files includes legislative correspondence. The 1969 and 1970 material is filed together, as was 1971 and 1972. However, 1973 and 1974 were both filed separately (with the exception of the federal agencies and county files which were maintained together). Topics include roads and interstates (I-75), water resource management (Carters Dam and Coosa River), Lockheed Corporation, rural electrification, busing for integration and civil rights, county grants, housing, Medicare, and science and technology.

Herman E. Talmadge Collection, Subgroup C, Series IV: Watergate files document the United States Senate Select Committee on Presidential Campaign Activities, known as the Ervin Committee. The committee was ordered to investigate the Watergate break-in and cover-up as well as other matters relating to the 1972 presidential campaign. These files reflect Talmadge's involvement on the Senate Select Committee and include committee and subject files, witness information, and proceeding reports. The files also contain correspondence, legal documents, lists, memorandums, and reports relating to committee business, political espionage, and the Bellino subcommittee. The Bellino subcommittee was composed of Senators Talmadge, Edward Gurnery and Daniel Inouye, and was created to investigate allegations that Carmine Bellino had spied on Republican party campaign officials during the 1960 presidential campaign on behalf of the Democratic party. The subject files consist of witness summaries, statements, exhibits, and correspondence. Materials pertain to illegal campaign contributions by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and Braniff Airways, ITT anti-trust and milk pricing cases, and the Responsiveness Program, an attempt to make government departments more "responsive" to the political needs of Nixon's re-election campaign.

The Richard B. Russell, Jr. Collection, Subgroup C, Series IV. Early Office reflects Russell's first years as a United States senator and reveals him as a strong supporter of New Deal legislation. Some gubernatorial papers were transferred to Russell's senate office and are found in this series. This series contains correspondence with some printed materials and is incomplete. There are few files documenting Russell's office during the first eleven years, especially from 1938 to 1943, the main series for this time period are Early Office, Political, Political Patronage, Personal, and a few files in General. Any additional non-textual materials originally filed with papers were removed for preservation purposes and improved access. These materials include photographs, audiovisual items, scrapbooks, vertical files, memorabilia, and books.

The collection consists of reminiscences of Wilson Lumpkin, written entirely in his hand, in 1852. The reminiscences mainly highlight his political career including service as a U.S. Representative; Governor of Georgia; United States Bureau of Indian Affairs, Commissioner to execute the Cherokee Treaty of 1835; and U.S. Senator. Besides the personal reminiscences, the volumes include copies of official correspondence as Governor and Commissioner, and speeches and remarks as U.S. Senator. The reminiscences describe state and national political matters and include extensive information regarding the native American Indians, particularly the Cherokees, and their subsequent removal to the West.
