Riley, Kansas, and Tennessee, and military posts in California, describe the geographic areas, training, and Bennett's duties. Letters written from the Pacific Theater discuss the Philippines, especially Manila and Leyte, and Japan. Letters include descriptions of the area, the people, camp life, and typhoons; and regard Japanese prisoners of war and independence of the Philippines. Post war letters regard Bennett's duties of processing troops in and out of the area and teaching classes for the army.
