Collection Description

Scope and Content

The collection consists of correspondence from Carroll L. Cowart to his parents from 1943-1945. Correspondence regards camp life in Louisiana and North Carolina training camps; troop movements in Europe; post war duties of the 354th at Camp Lucky Strike (France); and trips in post war Europe. The collection also includes some World War II ephemera; a copy of Combat History of 354th Inf. Regiment; and a copy of Cowart's memoir, titled Government Issue or the Story of One G.I. in World War II, written in 1991.
