A beautifully illustrated book of hours which consists of 170 unnumbered pages of 15th century French origin, probably from
Rouen. It includes a twenty-four page calendar bound at the front and is illuminated in gold and colors with five full-page
floral borders and 350 initials. It is a Latin manuscript, likely the Hours of the Passion, in Gothic letters on vellum, seventeen
lines to a page and is in a vellum binding. The text following the calendar begins: "Eripe me de inimicis meis deus meus ab
insurgentibus in me libera me" (Psalm 58).

Virginia in the vicinity of Fairfax Court House (1861).
