A beautifully illustrated book of hours which consists of 170 unnumbered pages of 15th century French origin, probably from Rouen. It includes a twenty-four page calendar bound at the front and is illuminated in gold and colors with five full-page floral borders and 350 initials. It is a Latin manuscript, likely the Hours of the Passion, in Gothic letters on vellum, seventeen lines to a page and is in a vellum binding. The text following the calendar begins: "Eripe me de inimicis meis deus meus ab insurgentibus in me libera me" (Psalm 58).

The collection consists of papers of John Donald Wade and the Wade family from 1857-1963. It includes primarily correspondence with some clippings, research material and notes, receipts, legal records pertaining to various trust funds, printed material and note books. Early materials (1857-1912) contain land grants and correspondence of the Wade family including John Daniel and Ida Anne, John Donald Wade's parents. The bulk of the collection pertains to Wade's involvement with and writings of the Agrarian concept, the Georgia Review, and the Marshallville Foundation, a beautification and improvement organization in Marshallville, Georgia. Major correspondents include such Southern writers as James Truslow Adams, Charles A. Beard, Donald Davidson, Berry Fleming, Andrew Lytle, Dumas Malone, Minnie Hite Moody, Flannery O'Connor, Charlton Ogburn, Byron Herbert Reece, and Lamar Trotti.

The papers of Gustavus Woodson Smith, 1858-1863, include correspondence with CSA President Jefferson Davis, often quarreling about army administration and strategy, appointment of staff, and his subsequent resignation as Major General. There is one letter to his wife Lucretia from New Kent County, Virginia, three reports with revisions on engagements at Eltham Landing and the Battle of Seven Pines or Fair Oaks during the Peninsular Campaign in Virginia, and operations of the Georgia Militia near Atlanta during the 1864 Atlanta Campaign. Also included is an original battlefield map showing Smith's route through Virginia in the vicinity of Fairfax Court House (1861).

The scrapbooks (46) contain a variety of materials including newsclippings and ephemera, some relating to Brown's political career, kept by various members of the Brown family.

The collection consists of the last will and testament of James Pate Sr. of Fayette County, Georgia. Pate divides his estate amongst his wife, Cathy and his children John, Thomas, James, Charles, William, and Seaborn, as well as his son-in-law Squire Posey for the care of his daughter Phoebe Yancey and his other daughters, Frankey Harrison and Ellinney Bland. The will stipulates that all property is to be divided into equal shares amongst the children after his wife has received five dollars, his son James has received three cows, calves and a bed and furniture, and Thomas his son has also received three cows, calves, a bed and furniture.
