The collection consists of genealogies, family trees, pedigrees, newspaper clippings, articles, pictures, and other materials related to the Aspinwall family. These include copies of Peter Aspinwall and his Descendants, by Algernon Aikin Aspinwall, 1901; The Aspinwall and Aspinall Families of Lancashire. A. D. 1189-1923, by Henry Oswald Aspinwall, 1923; and The Aspinwall Story, by Willie Mae Aspinwall Youmans.

The collection contains the personal and business papers of Mary Hambidge. These range from her personal correspondence between friends and colleagues to business correspondence directly relating to her work. Much of the collection concerns the Rabun Studios and other financials that Hambidge encountered in her career. There are a significant number of sketches and drawings, both identified and unidentified. Some are from the work Dynamic Symmetry. There is a also a collection of items such as yarn, jewelry, textiles, books, and photographs in this collection.

The scrapbooks series consists of more than forty-five scrapbooks capturing nearly a century of UGA athetlic history. These collections of clippings, photographs, tickets, and souvenirs were created by athletes and fans alike. Football is the most widely represented sport in the collection, but baseball, basketball, and swimming are also featured, and the 1940s-1960s is the most heavily documented time period.

Georgia Weather Bureau climatological records, 1870-1995, bulk 1878-1970

Abstract Or Scope:

This collection includes original data accumulated by weather bureau offices in both Atlanta's city (1878-1954) and airport (1931-1970) offices, Augusta (1870-1936), and Columbus (1946-1995). Included are handwritten hourly, daily, and monthly meteorological and climatological data sheets, reports, and observations. The Columbus records also include station log books (1942-1995) regarding equipment and expenses and several photographs of the office (1946, 1948). The general series has two volumes that relate to weather across the state, "Damaging weather in Georgia" and "Temperature average data sheets."

The collection consists of sets of type-written (carbon copy) reports that were collected or produced by the Survey of County and Municipal Affairs, a project undertaken in 1937 by the Works Progress Administration of Georgia. The collection consists of papers of the Bass, Linton, Lipscomb, and Wyche families. The papers include correspondence, photographs, autograph books, lecture notes, remedy book, sermons, plantation account books, a scrapbook, and a diary. Also included are lecture notes, sermons, and a scrapbook of Rev. Andrew A. Lipscomb of Athens, Georgia; a diary of Frank A. Lipscomb from his European trip; plantation account books of Moses Wadell Linton for Lintondale Plantation in Thomas County, Georgia; correspondence from Rev. Charles L. Bass to his mother while he served in London, England and Paris, France during World War I; and a remedy book of Thomas C. Wyche containing recipes for inks, soap, dyes, tonics, and food.

Susan Myrick papers, 1916-2010

Abstract Or Scope:

The collection consists of correspondence, writings, photographs, printed material and media. Most of the material in the collections concerns Myrick's work as a consultant on the movie Gone with the Wind. The correspondence includes memos to and from Myrick regarding her suggestions on the movie set; the writings include a typescript of the diary Myrick wrote in Hollywood while an advisor for the movie. From her diary Myrick sent back material for her columns in the Macon Telegraph and these columns were edited by Richard Harwell and published in 1982 as White Columns in Hollywood. Also included are examples of the columns and articles Myrick wrote for the Macon Telegraph from 1928 until her retirement in 1967. Photographs are both personal and professional in nature, depicting Myrick and her travels as well as Margaret Mitchell and Gone with the Wind.
