This collection primarily consists of notebooks created by Bisher to record sporting events, article ideas, and interviews with various athletes. The notes cover a wide range of sports at the professional and college level. Included are notes covering the World Series, Super Bowl, Masters, Kentucky Derby, and five Olympic games. There are clippings documenting Bisher's column from Charlotte News, Atlanta Journal, and Atlanta Journal Constitution. The research/professional files include clippings, correspondence, and printed materials about the Masters. Also included are certificates and plaques documenting Bisher's successful career.

The collection consists of the papers of George Baber Atkinson, his sister Fannie Atkinson, and the Atkinson family of Athens, Georgia from 1851-1914. It includes correspondence, deeds, articles, a bible, poems, essays, photographs, daguerreotypes, programs, scrapbooks, and indentures relating to ancestors of the Atkinsons. Articles and programs pertain to the Atlanta Medical College and the Winterville Academy (Winterville, Georgia). Most of the correspondence is to or from Fannie Atkinson. The collection provides a social history of Georgia for the time period.

The Richard B. Russell, Jr. Collection Subgroup C, Series VII: Political Patronage documents the many individuals from Georgia and elsewhere who sought Senator Russell's assistance in winning federal appointments or jobs, and materials here reflect his role in the process. Requests are for presidential appointments, federal judgeships, federal attorneys and assistant attorneys, federal marshals and deputy marshals, federal jobs, Georgia-based postmasters, and out-of-state judgeships. Any additional non-textual materials originally filed with papers were removed for preservation purposes and improved access. These materials include photographs, audiovisual items, scrapbooks, vertical files, memorabilia, and books.
