Consists of one letter written by R.W. McCormick at Oglethorpe University and sent to his friend "Rachel." McCormick writes about the inauguration of Governor Herschel V. Johnson on November 7, 1855 in Milledgeville, Georgia. He writes that many in attendance represented the "beauty and chivalry of the Empire State of the South." The letter also describes that the number of women in attendance was "so numerous that they occupied most of the seats so that the legislators were obliged to stand." At the end of the letter, McCormick also gives a detailed and unflattering description of Robert Toombs and Alexander Stephens, who were both in attendance.

The collection consists of poetry and an unpublished journal by William Paulk. The journal, titled Through Western Eyes: A China diary, documents Paulk's trip to lecture at Yunnan University in Kunming, China. The appendix of the journal concerns the visit of Professor Zhang Xin-he to Western Carolina University. The collection also consists of photographs and a letter. Photographs, undated, appear to be of family members, but most are unidentified. The letter, undated, Darlington School, Rome, Georgia, addresses "Cher Paul," is signed "Petit," and regards a visit at Terre Rouge and writings that were accepted.

This collection consists of a letter of thanks for ordering the 5 reel Western motion picture Devil Bateese from the Consolidated Film Supply Company of Atlanta to the Palace Theatre in Ashburn, Georgia. On the reverse is the handwritten order for 250 handbills, or dodgers, to be printed. Included is a printed handbill and the envelope with notes regarding the order.

The collection consists of one letter dated August 4, 1839, to Alexander H. Stephens in Crawfordville, Georgia. In the letter, Linton relates the details of his travels by stage to Athens to attend the University of Georgia. Once in Athens he discusses meeting Dr. Alonzo Church and Joseph and Lewis LeConte, taking his college entrance examination, joining Phi Kappa Literary Society, and finding living accommodations and a roommate. The collection also includes one undated photograph of Alexander H. Stephens as a young man.

The collection consists of a picture of a quilt made by Harriet Powers which is now housed in the Smithsonian. Also included is a Xerox letter written by Jennie Smith describing the quilt as well as giving a key to the individual squares. Smith intended to exhibit the quilt in the Colored Building at the Cotton States Exposition in Atlanta.
