Lanier wrote that she received many requests for writings, photographs or autographs of her husband (Sidney Lanier), and had gotten behind in her correspondence because of illness. Lanier also mentions Mary's mother, Aunt Fanny and Cosby.

One letter dated October 27, 1911, which is addressed to an unknown "William" from William Paton Ker, 1855-1923. Ker has sent his friend a collection of essays and in the letter devotes a paragraph to a recent trip to Denmark and tells of meeting the King and Queen of Norway.

Cooper, a national delegate to the Democratic Convention of 1912 stating his appreciation for Mr. Cooper's part in unifying the party in his area. The letter is typed on Wilson's Sea Grit, N.J. lettehead. Included is one delegate's pass to the convention in Baltimore on June 25.

The collection consists of one typed letter: dated Dalton, Georgia, September 11, 1915, to Mr. Dan Harris, Sandersville, Georgia, signed "Frank Manly," regarding the types of horse-drawn iron convict cages his company makes, including equipment available and price. On the verso is a picture of the cage.
