The collection consists of a photograph taken in August of 1926 at the International Congress of Plant Scientists held at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY. The photograph depicts members of the Botanical Society of America Mycology group. Two members of this group, Drs. Julian H. Miller and John Moore Reade, were (or became) influential UGA-affiliated professors and scientists.

The collection consists of several hundred newspaper clippings covering the period from March - May, 1946, re the International Monetary Conference held in Savannah. This was a meeting of financial and diplomatic experts seeking to organize a multi-billion dollar International Monetary Fund and International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (or World Bank, as it is now called). This meeting in Savannah was the first meeting since the Bank was officially organized on paper, December 27, 1945.

The collection consists of some business papers and legal records of James Monroe Smith. The papers are concened mostly with a lawsuit against Cowan, Usry & Co., of Worth County, Georgia, and a suit contesting the disposition of the estate of Smith, who died intestate. The business papers include statements, receipts, and ledger sheets regarding "hiring convicts." The legal papers include copies of injuctions, contracts, depositions, petitions and promisory notes. The letters to and from lawyers refer to a case heard before the state court of appeals after Smith's death.

The collection includes photographs from the following Georgia mill sites: Augusta, Columbus, LaFayette, Lindale, Macon, Rome, Rossville, Tifton, and Valdosta.
