The collection consists of 14 German posters, 1 diary transcript, 1 Nazi flag-banner, and 3 playbills from performances in Heidelberg, Germany. All of these items were collected by Dr. Henry King Stanford during his studies at the University of Heidelberg between September of 1936 and July of 1937.

Gideon Denison family papers, 1791-1802

Abstract Or Scope:

The collection consists of three letterbooks and one account book of the Denison family. The letterbook of Gideon Denison and his brother, Ezra Denison (1791-1792) contains letters regarding trade business with merchants in Augusta, Ga., Baltimore, Md., Charleston, S.C., London, England, and Philadelphia, Pa. Letters also concern cargo shipments, purchase of ships, and slave trade. The letterbook of Gideon Denison (1797-1799) contains letters describing his voyage to England, the sale of land in North Carolina and Tennessee, Indian treaties, and financial problems. Gideon Denison's account book (1796-1799) contains entries pertaining to the management of Gideon's farm in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Entries regard accounts for free and slave labor; purchases of livestock, slaves, food and clothing; and taxes. Henry Denison's letterbook (1801-1802) contains business letters relating to settling the estates of Ezra and Gideon, as well as personal family correspondence.

Gilbert White land indenture, 1761 October 28

Abstract Or Scope:

The collection consists of one land indenture dated October 28, 1761, made between Gilbert White of Selborne, County of Southampton, and Richard Baker of the parish of Foxfield, County of Southampton. Beautifully inscribed on vellum, it is adorned with several fine stamps and seals as well as a clear signature of White. The indenture is valid for one year.

Our Stories, Our Lives is a collection of stories gathered by the Georgia Libraries for Accessible Statewide Services (GLASS) to preserve and document a more complete history of the disability experience, specifically that of people with print disabilities who are living in Georgia. This is an oral history project that works to both preserve and document the varying experiences of those with print disabilities through the stories of people who have lived/are living with a print disability, including visual impairment, physical impairment, blindness, or an organic reading disability such as dyslexia.

The collection consists of the papers including five letters from Taylor in Trier, Germany, to his parents in which Taylor describes in detail his transport from Camp Wheeler, Georgia to Germany. The collection also contains a scrapbook of photographs of Trier and Chaumont-en-Bassigny and Verdum (France) which include battle scenes, local points of interest, airships, and buildings used for military purposes.

Illuminated manuscript Bible and Book of Hours leaves, 1150-1499

Abstract Or Scope:

The collection consists of illuminated manuscript leaves on vellum from the 13th and late 15th centuries. There are two Book of Hours leaves from France, late 15th century; one Book of Hours leaf from France, circa 1460; one Book of Hours leaf from Italy, 2nd half of 15th century; Bible leaf, Paris, mid-13th century; and Bible leaf, France, 13th century. The mid-13th century Bible leaf contains Tobias chapters V-VIII. There is also a late 12th century manuscript leaf with neumes from a Missal.

This collection consists of a wooden ballot box used in the Third District of Dooly County, GA for some period between 1928 and 1980. It also includes three documents commissioning James Vanderbilt Joiner as a Justice of the Peace in Dooly County, a reproduction of the deed conveying a portion of Joiner's land to be used for the third district courthouse, and a a copy of, Lessons from the Ladder, by Joiner's grandson, Neil.
