Emma Hamilton Bulloch poems, 1910

1 folder(s)
Abstract Or Scope:

The collection consists of galley proofs of an earlier work by Emma Hamilton Bulloch, author of The Marshes of Georgia and Other Poems (Washington, [D.C.] : W. F. Roberts Company, 1913), titled (in ink) on the first page simply "Poems." One poem, "The Cathedral Woods," does appear in both works -- at the beginning of "Poems" and at the conclusion of The Marshes of Georgia. "Poems" contains numerous manuscript corrections and notations, both printer's marks and textual changes. In the upper right corner of page one of the galley is the stamp of Seaman's Advertising Agency. Seaman's Printing House in Durham, North Carolina, was actively involved in job book work during the immediate pre-World War I period and very possibly was handling the publication of "Poems" for Emma Hamilton Bulloch.
