A bound typescript of The Indian difficulties of Georgia, an address delivered by Charles Spalding before the Georgia Historical Society in Savannah, Georgia, on March 30, 1844. Spalding defends Georgia in relation to its treatment of the Creek Indians. The present copy is of an unknown original, although two accompanying documents shed light on the origins.

Calder Willingham papers, 1942-1995

The collection consists primarily of screenplays, scripts, and unfinished work written by Calder Willingham. The most well-documented work in the collection is Rambling Rose, for which there are several drafts of screenplays, documents, and clippings. Screenplays for Little Big Man are also included, as well as scripts and treatments for projects that apparently never materialized. The collection also includes essays Willingham wrote on a number of topics, such as writing, philosophy, religion, and his upbringing. There is a substantial amount of correspondence including letters between Willingham and fellow authors Herman Wouk and James T. Farrell. Correspondence begun while Willingham was in college at the University of Virginia includes two love interests as well as David T. Bazelon, who would become a noted social critic. Some interviews and reviews of his work also form part of the collection.

Cadle family papers, 1880-1960

The collection consists of papers, pictures and other items concerned with the Everett, Foy, Burkes, Parker, Martin and Cadle families of Effingham, Screven, Bulloch and Emanuel counties of Georgia. There are a good many pictures. Some of the pictures were done by Mr. Wilson of Savannah, Georgia. An interesting part of this collection is the number of naval letters and papers of William Eden Cadle during the second World War. Mr. Cadle was sworn in at Macon, Georgia, on 20 April 1942 and trained at Norfold, Virginia. Mr. Cadle left Guam in September of 1945 and was discharged 24 December 1945 at Jacksonville, Florida.

The collection consists of writings, sermons, sermon notes, family photographs, photographic negatives and glass lantern slides of Europe and the Holy Lands, a scrapbook of clippings, photographs, and programs pertaining to Williams, a book of accounts Williams kept while a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University, and correspondence. The correspondence pertains to Williams' activities while at Oxford, his rectorship at St. Stephens Church (Milledgeville, Ga.), and his teaching career at the University of the South (Sewanee, Tenn.). Correspondents include University of Georgia Chancellor D.C. Barrow, the Bishop of Atlanta Cleland Kinloch Nelson, and Williams' father, Howard J. Williams. The collection also contains correspondence to Eleanor (Nellie) Barrow Williams from friends and family, letters of condolence upon her father's death, and memorials to Henry Lee Jewett Williams.
