Background

Biographical / historical:

Mr. William Eden Cadle, 82, died Saturday, June 27, 1998, at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Augusta. Mr. Cadle, a native of Swainsboro, owned Cadle's Feed and Seed from 1946 to 1957 and owned Cadle's Amoco Service Station from 1959 to 1968. He had been a bookkeeper for Flander's Tire Co., and he was a Swainsboro volunteer fireman. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, the Grand Lodge of Georgia Free and Accepted Masons, Swainsboro Lodge 244, the Shriners and the Emanuel County Sportsmen's Club. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a life member of the Lanier-Moore chapter of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
