Scope and content:

The collection consists of two bills of sale to John C. Greer. One dated Clarke County, Georgia, January 4, 1848 for an enslaved man named Pompey considered personal property of the estate of James Jennings for the amount of $185.00. The other dated Clarke County, Georgia, February 5, 1850 for an enslaved woman named Milly sold to satisfy a mortgage claim of Edward P. Clayton on Philip Clayton for the amount of $550.00
