Scope and content:

This collection contains correspondence, photographs, press, printed material, release agreements, video transcriptions regarding documentary films directed by Macky Alston. Also included are exhibition materials of Charles Alston's art.

Biographical / historical:

Macky Alston is an award winning documentary filmmaker from Auburn, Alabama. He is the son of Wallace M. Alston Jr. of Decatur, Georgia and Alice Alston of Monroe, Georgia. Mr. Alston directed the films Family Name, Questioning Faith, The Killer Within, Hard Road Home, The Truth Shall Set You Free, and Love Free or Die.
