Kathryn Johnson (1926-2019) was a reporter for the Associated Press, and editor for the US News and World Report, and CNN from 1960-1999. Ms. Johnson was born in Columbus, Georgia, and was a graduate of Agnes Scott College (1947). She is known for having covered the American Civil Rights Movement, the family of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Vietnam veterans and their families. Her first major story was on Charlayne Hunter and the integration of the University of Georgia in 1961. She published a memoir titled "My Time With the Kings" in 2016.
