Biographical / historical:

The Transylvania Club of Sandersville, Georgia, organized in 1908, is a women's service organization. Among its original directives was the establishment of a public library. The commemorative plates were created as a celebration of Georgia's Bicentennial and the 25th anniversary of the Transylvania Club. The blue and Mulberry color sets of 12 dinner-sized plates each featured significant events, locations, or people in Georgia's history in the center with a decorative border. They were a fundraising item produced by the Wedgewood Company of England.
