This collection contains an account ledger from from McGuire's Store, Georgia from 1854. It also contains an 1880 ledger from Dr. William C. Nixon, a small assortment of family correspondence including several from his son Fariss P. Nixon, and photographs of the Nixon family.

Biographical / historical:

Dr. William C. Nixon (1850-1898) was a physician who practiced in Nannie, Floyd County, Georgia in the late 19th century. Doctor Nixon married Emma Pinson (1854-1929) and had four children, Robert, William T., Maggie, and Fariss Nixon.

The name McGuire's Store was replaced by Nannie as the name of this Floyd County community, and was near the small town of Pinson.
