This collection contains correspondence between Private Willis W. Pitts and his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Pitts during his service in the Confederate Army from 1862 until his death in the Battle of Missionary Ridge in 1863. Pitts served in Company I, of the Georgia 37th Infantry. Also included is a letter from Mary A.A.C. Wates to Betty Pitts from 1860.
