James B. Sterling (1842-1864) from Litchfield County, Connecticut served in the Comapany E, 7th Conn. Volunteers and was wounded on February 20, 1864, in the battle of Oulestee, Florida. Edgar C. Sterling (1838-1917) served in Company D, 1st Infantry, C. V.
