Scope and content:

The collection consists of typescripts that focus on Georgia history, and include: Georgia's delegates to the federal convention of 1787, who they were and what they did, Saye's thesis, includes handwritten notations and corrections; Diary of a Beck Scholar, with a newspaper clipping regarding the Beck Scholarship; Abraham Baldwin; and Decision making in the Southern Baptist Convention. The collection also consists of typewritten correspondence from 1985-1986, regarding Saye's essay.

Biographical / historical:

"Albert B. Saye (1912-1989) was a professor of political science at the University of Georgia and scholar of Georgia history and politics. He was the author of twelve books, six of which focused on Georgia history. His works include New Viewpoints in Georgia History (1943), Principles of American Government (1950), and Handbook on the Constitutions of the United States and Georgia (1946).
