The collection consists of typed correspondence to and from William W. Abbot concerning university affairs, John D. Wade, and the creation of The Georgia Review. Two letters, signed E. Merton Coulter, regard Abbot's son, Bill. The collection also includes five postcards depicting Marshallville, Georgia.
- Biographical / historical:

William Wright Abbot III (1922-2009) was the son of Lillian Carswell and William Wright Abbot. Abbot received his bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia and entered the U.S. Navy in 1943. He taught at the College of William and Mary, and University of Virginia.
