The collection consists of sixteen cartes-de-visite depicting American and European actors, actresses, performers and celebrities. Celebrities portrayed include Ludwig Barnay, Charles Rollin Decker, Samuel Edgar Houghton, Henry Irving, Lillie Langtry, Helena Modjeska, Dame Ellen Terry, Georgina Elisabeth Ward, and Josefine Wessely. Origins of the prints include photographic studios in London, Dresden, Hamburg, Chicago, Syracuse, Boston and New York.
