The collection consists of genealogical materials about the Haygood and Thompson families. Included are correspondence, photocopies, and charts.

Biographical / historical:

The Haygood family spans as far back as the 1600s, under the name Hawkwood. This ancestor resided in Jamestown and remained rather unobtrusive in history. His lineage continued until present day. At some point, the Haygood family moved further south. In 1800, the Haygood and Thompson families came together in marriage.
