The collection consists of papers (mostly photocopies) concerning the James Scott family from 1821-1969. Papers include photocopies of genealogical records, chapters from books; two publications concerning Searles Valley; two published maps (Jayhawker Trail map and Points of interest map of Death Valley); and several photocopies of papers concerning the life and career of Ernest Leland Scott, Jr. The collection also includes a poster portraying American Potash and Chemical Corp., Trona, California.
