The collection consists of approximately 6,000 photographs and 4,500 slides of agriculture related items such as people, barns, sheds, pecan groves, pests, poultry, quail, swine, and other farm related images.

Biographical / historical:

Elmo C. Hester, Jr. was a graduate of the College of Agriculture at the University of Georgia. He was the farm editor for the Atlanta Constitution, farm editor for the Columbus Enquirer, editor-publisher of Georgia Farmer magazine and South Carolina Farmer/Grower magazine, and founder and publisher of Pecan South magazine.
