The collection consists of correspondence, photographs, and ephemera dated from 1919 to 1963 and collected by the William Bruce Eidson family of Ways (or Richmond Hill), Bryan County, Georgia. The bulk of the collection consists of correspondence from William Bruce Eidson, Jr. to his parents from 1939 to 1952 while he was a student at Georgia Tech, in the army as a flight trainee and part of its specialized training program, and a journalism student at the University of Georgia after the war. Also included is a group of letters written by William Bruce Eidson to his wife from 1919 to 1952 while he worked elsewhere in the lumber trade and later as part of the Civilian Conservation Corps and in Columbus, Georgia at Fort Benning.
