-
The collection consists of biographical information, correspondence, school papers and writings, financial items, printed material, diplomas and photographs. The correspondence includes letters from York's siblings and friends. Much of the correspondence is written on humorous postcards of that time period. A 1913 letter from W. A. Cunningham (head coach at the University of Georgia) contains diagrams of football plays. The school papers include a University of Georgia football banquet program (1910) with signatures by coaches and players, and two compositions describing York's trip from Fort McPherson (Ga.) to Cuba in 1906. There are photographs of houses where Gus York lived, a wagon train in Cuba, county extension work, and a panorama view of the University of Georgia class of 1912-1913.
