The collection consists of diplomas, certificates and the like from a variety of sources, but mainly from Georgia educational institutions (especially the University of Georgia and Athens High School) and related organizations such as fraternities. Of particular note is William Tate's diploma for his Master's degree from the University of Georgia. Also in the collection are photographs of individuals, fraternities, and an unidentified hydroelectric power plant.

William Tate (1903-1980), son of Philip May Tate and Edna Tate, was an educator and Dean of Men at the University of Georgia. Tate married Susan Barrow.
