The collection consists of correspondence, photographs, and printed material. Most of the correspondence is between Katharine and Emory and their parents and friends. While a student at the University of Georgia, Emory wrote letters describing various athletic events and social activities. There are also letters of sympathy to Katharine and her mother Rosa concerning the illness and death of Emory, Jr. There are photographs of Katharine and Chi Omega sorority. The printed material consists of school material of Katharine's, copies of "The Georgia Arch," "The Georgia Agriculturalist," and various programs at the University of Georgia.

The Pattillo family included Emory Moss Pattillo, an agent for SVEA Insurance Company (Charlotte, North Carolina) and National Union Insurance Company (Chattanooga, Tennessee); his wife Rosa Milledge Pattillo; and their children Emory Moss Pattillo, Jr. and Katharine Milledge Pattillo. Katharine attended Columbia Institute in Columbia, Tennessee, Decatur High School, and the University of Georgia. She graduated in June 1938 with a degree in Home Economics. She married Fred Henry White, Jr. on December 16, 1939. Emory, Jr. attended the University of Georgia, married Helena (last name unknown), and died in 1941. The Pattillos moved to Atlanta around 1937.
