Scope and content:

The collection consists of videotaped interviews with centenarians, based on the National Institute of Mental Health-funded project on centenarian research at the University of Georgia Gerontology Center.

Biographical / historical:

The Institute [of Gerontology], formerly the Gerontology Center, was established in 1964 by an all-university committee commissioned by the President of the University. The Institute joined the College of Public Health in 2005. The Institute is charged to initiate, maintain, and collaborate in instruction, research, and outreach associated with aging and the aged.
