The collection consists of three photocopied letters and transcriptions from Eliza G. Robarts to her uncle, Capt. Samuel Low in Warwick, Rhode Island. The letters contain concern for health, complaints about being low in the purse, religion, love of family, explanations of Southern news, such as the gold rush, Cherokee issues, and the nullification debate.

Eliza Greene Robarts (1785-1868) was the aunt of Charles Colcock Jones and the niece of Capt. Samuel Low. She was portrayed as the venerated "Aunt Eliza" in The Children of Pride by Robert Manson Myers.
