Rush Allen was the father of Mrs. Elsie A. Potter and the grandfather of Edith Potter.
Edith Grace Potter joined the Cataloging Department of the University of Georgia Libraries in 1961. Prior to that, she had received a B.A. degree in 1952 from Florida State University in Tallahassee, where she was a member of several honorary societies, including Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Delta Pi (Spanish), Eta Sigma Phi (Classics), and Pi Delta Phi (French). She receieved an M.A. degree in Spanish literature in 1954 and an M.S. in Library Science in 1955, both from Florida State University.
