Scope and content:

This collection covers the years 1929 to 1998 and contains records documenting all aspects of the organization. Included are records of annual meetings, minutes of the Board of Directors, correspondence, records and minutes of the various committees, photographs, printed material, tree farm inspection records, and other material. Also included are financial and membership records consisting of account books, audit reports, and treasurer's reports as well as membership records that have close relation to financial matters.

Biographical / historical:

The Georgia Forestry Association was founded in 1907 and reorganized in 1922 and again in 1945. The Georgia Forestry Association is a non-profit, non-governmental organization, which concentrates on public relations and education, legislation, and general dissemination of information on Georgia forestry matters. The mission of the organization is to promote and encourage proper protection, management, utilization, and marketing of forest resources within the state of Georgia.
