The collection consists of correspondence, scrapbooks of photographs, and memorabilia relating to her duty in North Africa, Algeria, and Italy. The photographs depict local points of interest, the aftermath of battle, fellow Red Cross workers, and members of the American forces. The collection also includes correspondence from Charles Bogner and v-mail from Smith to her mother. Additions include family photographs of the Thomas, O'Shea and Smith families, school ephemera, writing, and correspondence from Harris Jackson to Winifred Thomas Smith.
