Scope and content:

The collection consists of family correspondence, letter books from, business papers, including indentures, receipts and equitable securities. Also included are ledger books, family photos, a diary by Sarah Stokes, and two scrapbooks.

Biographical / historical:

The Rhind family resided in Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia. James Rhind married Mary Gardener (1815-1851) and their children included Colden and Margeret. Margeret married William Stokes and their children included Sarah Gardner and James Rhind Stokes.
